About the event
Practical Data Anonymisation in Circadian and Mental Health Research
Join us for a hands-on workshop exploring how to protect sensitive research data (patients, participants) prior to sharing.
Sharing research data benefits the whole scientific community and is increasingly required by funders.
Data anonymisation is a crucial process for sharing sensitive data while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations like GDPR.
This 90-minute session will combine real-world data examples, brief theoretical insights, and interactive group exercises using realistic datasets (e.g., interview transcripts, sleep logs, hormone levels, questionnaires).
We’ll cover topics such as key distinctions between de-identification and anonymisation, common techniques like masking and suppression, and maximising research value while ensuring participants privacy.
